Arriving early?
Jul 13, 2008, 16:40
Hi,

We're going to come to the Green Man for the first time this year.

We were thinking about coming on Thursday - is there much to do until the music starts at Friday lunchtime? Is it worth turning up early for a good spot for our camper van?

How far is the campervan park from the main festival area?

Thanks

Chris

If I recall correctly (although my recollection of festivals is generally not to be relied on) the bars and food outlets were open on the Thursday last year.

There's also the Green Baby gig held locally - have a look on this link

The campervan area is just a few minutes stroll from the main arena. Last year they filled it up from the back so that in fact the earlier you arrived the further away you were. However we're talking an extra minute's walk so nothing to fret about.

Personally I love getting to festivals as early as possible and getting into the atmosphere as more and more people arrive.

If you look in the General Board area of the site linked to in my last post you'll find a layout map of last year's festival.

The 'live-in vehicle' area is for campervans. It took up most of that area. The 'General Camping' bit was actually a small overflow area at the back.
