Is there a closing time on the gate?

Hi
Newbie to the festival here and well excited!
We are travelling from Leeds, but cannot take time off work on the Thursday, so if we were to arrive late ie midnight-ish would we be able to gain access to the festival and set up? Otherwise we will leave at silly o'clock and try to arrive for daybreak - don't worry, we are quite used to pitching up in silence.....!
I'm still struggling to get an understanding of the festival site (I've heard it changes..) but is there an arena where the entertainment, then all the camping is outside of the arena? What time do they kick out of the arena? Is there anything to do, apart from make conversation, which of course I'm happy to do, after the arena closes? Can you take your own booze into the arena?
Only a month to go!! Woo hoo!

we got there about 1am friday last year , there was quite a few arriving at this time and every thing was cool ! still plenty of space etc. you can stay in the arena all night they have a fire after the stages have closed .
you carn't take your own beer into the arena but camping is close so just nip out for a hour or two to chill and have a beer.
its the best festival in u.k by far!!!!

Thanks Liz, all useful info! Glad to hear (not that I expected it really) that its not a V type thing where everyone gets kicked out of the arena at midnight and then wanders around....

Just noticed this on the FAQs page:
The Box Office will be open from 10am until 2am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and from 10am until 8pm on Sunday. There will be no admission to the festival outside of these times.
So it seems you may need to be arrive by 2am..
