Been a fan of Gomez since they started and I'm chuffed to bitsy that at least one of them is representing, would have liked the full set but hey ho. He's got a fantastic rough voice so it will be good to hear his solo stuff and hopefully some Gomez stuff.

Yeah, I always felt Gomez were hugely underrated - looking forward to seeing Ben - no competition from either the Main Satge (Spiritualized - yaaaawn) of Folkey Dokey (Black Mountain)

I'll definitely be watching Black Mountain, easy decision.
I thought Gomez were pretty popular for a while, lots of people I know have/had their cds. I never liked them though. Are they still going?

Yes, but they signed to Dave Matthews label and so decamped somewhat to America to tour and record. Ian Ball has started doing solo stuff as well as Ben, but to be honest I've not really listened to any of the recent stuff, ergo I may flit between Ben and Spiritualized.

The last Gomez album was largely reviewed as a huge return to form, but personally I thought it was a bit middle-of-the-road, a little bit Johnny Walker's Drive Time.
I'd enjoyed all their records up to that point though.
Still, I'll be watching Black Mountain.

Saw him solo recently and he was great. Better than the last time i saw Gomez actually. Did quite a few cover versions - Tom Waits, Paul Simon etc.
