Rubbish corporate v Green Man
Sep 08, 2008, 15:57
Just come back from stewarding at bestival and had an awful time.

Just illustrated to me how much better organised Green Man is in comparison. Having been to both just as much rain poured down but the feeling was so different.

It really was a corporate bash and having seen some of the post event advertising incredibly hypocritical. Rob da bank carps on about being independent but it is not independent at all.

Lots of thefts, lots of VIPS and lots of money. I could have been at Leeds or Reading but surrounded by people dressed as fish?

With all of that you would have thought that they could of looked after the customers better but no way.

Well done again Green Man you have organised the best festival this season, you really care about the welfare of everyone who comes and it shows.

I will not be going back to bestival again.

Got to agree it was not the best experience I have had at a festival.

I got a free ticket from a friend who couldn't handle the rain.

Kept on being pushed from one closed down area to another by rude and unsympathetic security.

Just about found my way round the site with my £6.00 program - ouch

Drank my £4.00 drink and then had my purse nicked from my tent.

I thought Amy Winehouse was good and enjoyed the come dancing tent - but not again thank you.

As for the independent thing I certainly agree with you that is absolute rubbish.

Its an incredibly commercial event. All you have to see is the publicity spin following the event to see the machinery of the music industry at work.

I am sure there is something off about a Radio 1 employee using that status to promote a commercial venture - the whole thing stinks as much as the site did when I left.
