Pure Pie vs Pieminister
Aug 27, 2008, 11:06

... i liked the way the organisers of the food stalls got two pie stalls in this year! In the two previous years to this, i have indeed indulged in pieminister pie's.
BUT what a revelation Pie was this year... It easily out pied pieminister! Scrumptious pies, no queue's, far friendlier staff. The overall pie experience far out weighed the other.
Exceedingly good pies.
yum yum yum yum, bring on next year.

I totally agree with you on this one. Pure Pies did chips aswell which were really yummy. In my experience Pieminister staff seem to be rude, short tempered and I always feel like asking them for anything is a huge hassle. Has anyone else ever been able to get the 'Heidi' pie from there as I couldn't get one last year or this year. Do they actually do a Heidi pie? By the way, the only thing I ate on Friday night was a pieminister pie and I spent the entire night throwing up - and no it wasn't the drink!!!!!!!
On the whole quite a few of the staff on the food stalls seemed to have abit of an attitude - maybe this was due to the weather. Don't know if anyone checked out the Juicy Lucy stall up by the Folkey Dokey but I'd really recommend you ladies (and guys) try their range of organic cosmetics - they are really yummy and definately worth the money. Plus the staff were really sweet.

I prefer Pieminister myself, and yes they do do Heidi pies. Never had one myself but my partner has and swears by them. Didn't have any problems with food staff with attitudes either at any stall, though the queues at Pieminister still amaze me - it must be one of the simplest and quickest things to serve and it always seems to take forever.

grrrrrrrr well we'll have to agree to disagree! Generally I found all staff at the festival to be cheery despite the rain. Actually everybody was cheery. I love reminiscing!.. It was brilliant. I had great fellafel's and hummous from the chai shop stall too,, they've got a bike in the back that they use to churn the chick peas up with to make them AND the whole of the stall is run by solar power!!
Is it dinner time yet? :)

Pure Pie were the winners by far. I took the missus to Pieminister on the Thursday regaling her of pie stories of yore (well, last year!), but she wasn't bowled over, and neither was I, it seemed to be all crust and no filling. Then we discovered Pure Pie, tucked away beside Tricky cider, and what a difference, nice filling, no ridiculous queue... and chips!

I had a Pieminster pie a couple of times and thought they were good but was left wondering what all the fuss was about. I wish I had tried the other pie shop now :(
