Is the number of early bird tickets restricted?

I think that a restricted number of tickets should be bought at one time to stop ticket touts cashing in on the deal.
I have bought some already but I some of my friends who want to go to the festival next year are waiting until next month for financial reasons.
It is a brilliant offer, but it should be for green man regulars not some ticket tout to make a killing on.

I asked this a while ago and the official reply was they are limited by number so once they've gone, they've gone.
