Any other Disabled visitors?
Aug 19, 2008, 12:03
I had a good time,

but I'm going to have to spend a fortune on accupuncture bills.

I've only got one leg, and getting around was impossible. I saw one other wheelchair user there and she was leaving!

I couldn't use a wheelchair, so I reverted to crutches which nearly killed me, I was furious as the stewards did nothing to help. I loved the music, I just couldn't get to see most of it. Then when our tent flooded, the stewards watched as the one legged man tried to sort it out.

To add to Greenman kicking me in the family jewels, I was charged £10! to be dragged out of a field by a tractor, I loved the music that I saw, but I had to leave my friends to it most of the time, which caused them to have a worse time as they couldn't jsut wonder off, they felt obviously they'd have to stay with me,

but to say the site is "wheelchair accessible" is a downright lie.

I'll be writing a letter of complaint, the music I saw barely covered the pain that I'm now in,

it wound me up that no one really offered to help me out either, I've been to bigger festivals, Phoenix, Reading etc, where complete strangers have helped, but at a lovely small intimate little festival, I got nothing.

Great line up, piss poor lay out, and piss poor planning.

The disabled facilities at the Greenman looked poor, compared to what I have seen at Reading. I've been twice to Reading and stayed as a guest/ helper on the disabled campsite. No thought seems to have been given to wheelchair access or special disabled viewing platforms etc. At Reading helpers appeared on the disabled campsite to help take down the tents! This contrasts with you having to pay £10 to get out of the field.
