Agree with slight change in Punter never had problems at previous Green mans.
-A few in crowds who push through/ ignore presence of little kids.
-My lads tent cut open and stuff nicked. Why cut it? wasn't locked- waste of a good tent so I had to buy a crappy pop up for thirty quid
- a few unpleasant drunks, one noisy git on the main stage slope came up demanding a high five as I sat restfully. Thought I would humour him- he gave me right aggresive wallop and twisted my wrist which still hurts a lot now- he then did this to a few other people managing to hit someone in the face while his mates looked on, before trampling over a girls jewelry and handbags- if you read this mate you should stick to Vimto, you can't take your beer.
A few minutes after he came careering past down the slope -It was oh sooooooo tempting to stick out a welly and make his day. I didn't 'cos im not like that .
- " Lovely staff" member on the pieminister stall telling the person in front to make you effin mind up! when he changed his pie order before she had lifted a finger ( On Sunny Friday morning)
I agree more could have been done to mitigate the mud fest which we all knew was coming metal grids on the main walkways for one. If someone broke a limb they could get sued!
I think the higher numbers and publicity are starting to tell now. I did notice a lot of glum faces on Saturday night.
Also found the mud put me off moving up to the Folky Dolky at one point- too knackered!
Saw some great bands and overall was great.
Realise the organisers can't legislate for everything but it would make a difference if they attended to those things they could control.
A few rainless days next year will make a difference!

I saw the 'High Five' guy - He was on cider! Seemed pretty harmless but a tad heavy handed. (Sorry about the wrist) If it makes up for it - he tried it on one guy who went to do the high five back but retracted his hand at the very last second - the drunk bloke missed and stumbled forward into someone else! He also tried it on a mum and young daughter trying to negotiate the slope and get passed him - he made them slip back down, so mum told him to bugger off. He settled down eventually. IF your are reading this mate - you were funny for a short while but dont mess about with lone mothers with toddlers.

Bless! he was harmless enough, if a little heavy handed. I'm sure he cheered up a good many soggy souls and without a doubt made my rainy day more sunny.
I hope he doesn't read this thread because otherwise he will feel very self-conscious about the obviously joyfull time he had.
We all have to let ourselves go once in while and it's great that Green Man can be a vehicle for this.
"High Five to you! (but try to be a tad gentler my dear)" x
