I played last year and I was not on the bill - Bill, excuse the pun

Anyone can play, as long as you don't damage peoples ears..

It can be a bit intimidating when one of the well known musicians play, you feel a little self conscious but everyone has always been welcoming even though I do the occasional duff note.

I dont think I would have the balls to get up and show the world how crap I am. I wish I did though.

It might be a good idea to have a beginners tent, so that us learners can have a go without being too intimidated by experienced players.

I am a beginner and I played last year, it really is very friendly. I think band members really like the rootsy feel of it all.

It was intimidating but I sort of sat down with my guitar and tried to join in. It took a while to get going but I did in the end. Just taking part was a very cool experience.

It would ruin it if it was just professionals playing. Having professionals and beginners playing is part of the magic...

It would be good to get a few of us from the forum to join in this year..

Anyone else up for this?

I would be up for it, the stuff we play would have to be pretty easy and no barre chords.
Suggestions ?

Two years ago my friend took an arm full of instruments, kazoos and all, with us to the bonfire and had a very jolly time. She skipped round like the pied piper with her penny whistle collecting along the way the band Circulus and a one-man band called Pete something, they were all very happy to slum it with those of us who were not on the bill...although I do admit we were a little away from the bonfire circle and so it was considerably less intimidating.
